Sofas for your living room – Bouclé, Leather and Fabric

The sofa is where the evening ends. Therefore, it should fit: in size, fabric, and color. At Richhome, you'll find over 90 sofas – from compact 2-seaters measuring 140 cm to corner sofas with ottomans, and lounge sofas up to 408 cm wide. Upholstered in structured bouclé, soft fabric, or real leather, in a color palette ranging from sand and taupe to green, terracotta, and cognac.

Corner Sofa with Ottoman – left or right

For a corner sofa, the ottoman determines the entire room: if you sit facing the window, the long section usually belongs on the right, but for a wall niche, it might be on the left. Measure beforehand to see which side has more space and where doors and passageways are located. You can find more models and dimensions in our Corner Sofas category.

2-Seater, 3-Seater, and Large Lounge Sofas

For small living rooms and reading nooks, a 2-seater sofa starting at 140 cm wide is sufficient. The 3-seater, between 190 and 240 cm, is the classic choice for couples and small families. And if there's plenty of space, a lounge sofa measuring 310 to 408 cm becomes the focal point of the room. The relevant subcategories are: 2-Seater Sofas and 3-Seater Sofas. Do you like curved shapes? Then take a look at our round and semi-circular sofas.

Leather Sofa in Cognac and Chesterfield Classic

A cognac leather sofa becomes more beautiful with age: real leather absorbs traces of use and develops a warm patina that no fabric can replicate. In addition to the cognac-colored 2-seater and the cognac corner sofa, we also offer Chesterfield sofas with deep button tufting – available in strong green and red if the sofa is meant to be a statement piece in the room.

Bouclé, Fabric, and Leather – which upholstery is right for you?

Bouclé has a knobby, lively texture, looks high-quality, and adds texture to calmly decorated rooms – however, it is more sensitive to sharp claws. Smooth woven fabrics are the most uncomplicated everyday upholstery and are available in most colors. Real leather is the easiest to care for, is pleasantly cool in summer, and ages beautifully, but costs more. We have a dedicated collection for sofas with corduroy upholstery: Corduroy Sofa & Corduroy Couch.

Colors: Taupe, Sand, Gray, Green, and Terracotta

Taupe and sand are safe choices: they match wood, natural stone, and almost any wall color, and never go out of style. Gray remains the all-rounder, especially for corduroy sofas. If you want color, opt for green, mustard yellow, terracotta, burgundy, or pink – we carry all these shades, from daybeds to large corner sofas.

Matching the Sofa

A matching armchair turns the sofa into a seating group, and a coffee table provides the connecting element. Underneath, a rug brings calm to the room, and next to it, a floor lamp provides the right lighting. For outdoors, you'll find matching garden sofas and garden lounges.

Frequently asked questions about sofas

Bouclé, fabric or leather – which cover is the right one?

Bouclé has a nubbly, vibrant texture and looks high-quality, but it is more sensitive to sharp claws. Smooth woven fabrics are the most uncomplicated everyday covers. Genuine leather is the easiest to care for, is pleasantly cool in summer, and ages beautifully, but it costs more. Sofas with corduroy covers can be found in our own category Corduroy Sofas & Corduroy Couches.

Corner sofa with chaise longue left or right – what's the difference?

The specification always refers to the view of the sofa from the front: For "ottoman right", the extended section is on the right when you are standing in front of it. Measure beforehand to determine which side has more space and where doors, windows, or passageways are located. Our cord corner sofa is therefore available in both versions.

Which sofa size fits in my living room?

As a rule of thumb, the sofa should occupy about two-thirds of the wall length it stands against. For rooms under 15 m², a 2-seater measuring 140 to 190 cm is suitable; for rooms between 15 and 25 m², a 3-seater measuring 190 to 240 cm fits well; and for rooms 25 m² and larger, a lounge or corner sofa from 300 cm upwards looks appropriate. Plan for at least 80 cm of walkway in front of the sofa.

What sofa color matches my decor?

Taupe and sand are the most straightforward shades – they harmonize with wood, light walls, and almost any carpet. A grey sofa remains timelessly neutral. Cognac goes well with warm woods and vintage furniture, while green and terracotta make deliberate statements and work best against calm wall colours.

What is a Chesterfield sofa?

The Chesterfield is recognizable by three features: the deep button tufting on the back, the rolled armrests at back height, and the low seat height. Originally crafted in dark leather, the Chesterfield sofa is now also available in fabric and vibrant colors such as green and red – as an eye-catcher in the living room or reception area.
