Buy Shelves – Bookcases, Gold & on Wheels

Buying shelves – storage that makes a statement

A shelf needs to do two things at once: create order and look good. At Richhome, you'll find 170 shelves that do just that – from delicate glass shelves with gold frames to solid teak bookcases. All models are built to support their contents even when every compartment is full.

Bookcase in Gold, Silver, or Black

A gold bookcase with glass shelves appears light and elegant – it displays books without cluttering the room. The silver or chrome-plated shelf is the cooler option and suits modern, bright interiors. A black bookcase made of wood and metal brings calm to a busy room and makes colorful book spines stand out particularly well. Our bookcases are available in widths from 55 to 160 cm and heights up to 220 cm.

Shelf on Wheels – Flexible in the Room

A shelf on wheels can be moved when the room's use changes – as a room divider, as mobile storage in the kitchen, or as an ancillary shelf next to a desk. Our industrial-design metal shelf on wheels combines a gray metal frame with wooden shelves and can be locked into place. Also available as a wooden rolling shelf.

Materials: Metal, Glass, and Solid Wood

A shelf made of glass and metal appears almost weightless because the eye sees through it – the right choice for small rooms. Solid wood, such as teak or oak, brings warmth and supports heavy loads. The combination of wood and metal in an industrial design is the compromise between both: robust, yet visually open. For enclosed storage, please see our display cabinets and sideboards & chests of drawers.

Wall Shelves and Kitchen Shelves in Country Style

Wall shelves in gold or black do not take up any floor space and are suitable for hallways, small bathrooms, and above desks. A country-style kitchen shelf made of white glazed wood offers open space for dishes and provisions and matches our country-style display cabinets.

Special Shelves: Books, Wine, and Televisions

For specific purposes, we have separate categories: bookcases for the library, wine racks for bottle collections – from metal wall wine racks to solid wood wine racks for 12 bottles – and TV units for televisions and media technology.

Frequently Asked Questions about Shelving

What types of shelving does Richhome offer?

We stock bookshelves, wall shelves, glass shelves, metal shelves, shelving units on castors, country-style kitchen shelves, wine racks, and TV stands. In total, the category comprises 170 models made of metal, glass, and solid wood.

Are there any shelves on wheels?

Yes. Our industrial design shelving unit on wheels features a grey metal frame with wooden shelves and can be freely moved around the room – for example, as a room divider or as mobile storage. The wheels are lockable. A wooden shelving unit on wheels is also available.

What widths do your bookshelves have?

Our bookshelves range from 55 cm to 160 cm in width, and up to 220 cm in height. Narrow models starting at 55 cm fit into alcoves and next to doors, while the 110 cm and 140 cm versions are the most common for living rooms.

Which shelf fits in a small room?

A shelf made of glass and metal appears lightest because the eye can see through the shelves – a glass shelf in gold or silver hardly clutters the room visually. Alternatively, wall shelves save all floor space.

What is the difference between a shelf, a bookshelf, and a wine rack?

The bookshelf has deeper, more stable shelves for heavy loads. The wine rack has recesses where bottles are stored lying down – so the cork stays moist. You can find both as separate categories with us: Bookshelves and Wine racks .

What chairs go with a round dining table?

For a round dining table, chairs without sprawling armrests are best because they can be fully pushed under – such as upholstered dining chairs in taupe or sand. For rectangular tables, cantilever chairs with armrests and benches also work. You can find suitable models under Chairs.
