Floor vases and flower pots – décor that occupies space

A large floor vase fills an empty corner, frames a doorway, or stands as a pair next to a sideboard. Metal flower pots and planters give houseplants a look that matches your décor. At Richhome, the focus is on large-format metal pieces – in gold, silver, black, and bronze.

Large floor vase – 100 cm and more

From a height of about 100 cm, a floor vase acts like a piece of furniture in its own right. It doesn't need flowers to make an impact – with pampas grass, dried flowers, or long branches, it becomes an eye-catcher. Our largest models are up to 140 cm tall. For wide spaces, we recommend a pair in two different heights.

Gold, silver, black, or bronze

A silver floor vase looks cool and modern and reflects light in the room. Gold brings warmth, especially against dark walls. Black is the calm choice for clean, minimalist interiors, often combined with gold details. Bronze and antique finishes pair well with country house and vintage styles.

Flower pot or planter?

A flower pot has a drainage hole, and the plant grows directly inside it. A planter is closed: the plant stays in its plastic pot and is simply placed inside – this keeps the floor dry and makes it easy to switch out the plant. Rattan plant pots look more natural.

On a pedestal, even a smaller vase becomes an eye-catcher. You can find more home accessories in our decoration collection.

Frequently asked questions about floor vases and flower pots

How large should a floor vase be?

For an empty corner or next to a piece of furniture, vases 80 to 100 cm in height work well. In rooms with high ceilings, they can be 120 cm or taller.

Can I fill a metal vase with water?

For fresh flowers, it is best to place a glass or plastic container inside. This will keep the surface looking beautiful for a long time.

What is the difference between a flower pot and a cachepot?

The flower pot has a drainage hole; the cachepot is closed and holds the plant's plastic pot.

What should I put in a large floor vase?

Pampas grass, dried flowers, eucalyptus or long branches. The vase also works as a sculpture when empty.
